Ashley Boggs has been rescuing dogs for a long time and considers it her life’s work. He once saw a helpless brown dog asking for help while traveling down a rural road in Puerto Rico.
This particular stray dog was behaving differently than other stray dogs that often hide in the bushes or wander down a busy road without any intention – it looked like it was frantically trying to communicate with Boggs!
Dog mom asking for just one thing
Ashley discovered that the dog that had stopped her was a nursing mother who was desperately trying to get help for her puppies as she got out of the car. This dog was left alone to defend her family in the forest, without food or water.
Luckily, New Yorker Boggs, who works at Miracles for Satos Rescue, arrived just in time to save the day.
There were two more cubs sheltered in the remote location, in addition to the mother, who was eventually given the name Goji.
The three were immediately cordial and Boggs had no problem getting them into his car. He decided he had to return to the wooded area to look a little closer after hearing more puppy cries there.
Eventually, Boggs located four more puppies hiding next to the box in which they had been abandoned. Until she could fit all seven of them into the back of her car, this kind volunteer with a big heart worked non-stop.
The Berry family saved time
Boggs and the rest of the team made sure this street family got all the care they needed after she finally transported them to the clinic. They all needed food and a new start, and they got both!
The puppies were extremely lucky to have been found by Boggs, as Boggs works for Miracles for Satos Rescue, an organization that rescues and rehomes dogs from Puerto Rico to New York to help them find a forever home.
They were all taken to a foster home, where they began to socialize with other dogs and acquire some fundamental puppy manners.
The mother, Goji, was the most devoted dog in the world, so she had no problems adapting to new situations.
“She is the best dog ever. She loves all dogs and everyone she meets. He likes pats and hugs and does tricks with food, according to a post on the MFSR team Facebook page.
The remaining puppies were given raspberry, blueberry, currant, blackberry, blackberry, and strawberry.
The MFSR team said: “We called them berries because we picked them from the bushes.
A new beginning
Goji had finally reached a place where he no longer worried about his family’s safety. She relaxed thanks to her caregivers, becoming the kindest little girl whose main goal was to make everyone she saw smile.
“He loves to go for walks but his favorite place in the world is the lap of his favorite person. GOJI is definitely a volunteer favorite because she is absolutely charming. “She brings joy to the world every day,” the MFSR wrote.
Not long after their rescue, the Berry family found their forever families and they couldn’t be happier!
Once abandoned and at the mercy of nature, these adorable furballs are now enjoying life in their new homes.
