Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al Nassr FC in the Saudi Pro League, has been the subject of speculation for years about possible cosmetic procedures. Plastic surgery experts have suggested that the player may have had Botox and facial fillers to maintain his youthful appearance.
In 2016, plastic surgeon Alex Karidis, in an interview with The Sun, analyzed the evolution of Ronaldo’s appearance since his arrival at Manchester United in 2003, aged 18. “It looks like he may have had Botox around his eyes and on his forehead. His skin is practically perfect,” Karidis commented. He also mentioned the possibility that Ronaldo has used facial fillers to smooth out expression lines.
Despite the speculation, Ronaldo insists his appearance is the result of natural care. “I value my body and my health. I like looking at myself in the mirror, but it’s all the result of a healthy lifestyle,” he said.
Wayne Rooney, Ronaldo’s former Manchester United teammate, revealed in his 2012 autobiography that Ronaldo had always had a fondness for admiring himself in the mirror. “There was a mirror next to Ronaldo’s seat in the dressing room at Old Trafford. During my time playing with him, I noticed that he couldn’t walk past a mirror without looking at himself, even when we were about to go on the pitch,” Rooney wrote.
While Rooney has been open about his own hair transplant in 2011, Ronaldo has never confirmed having had similar procedures. In 2013, Ronaldo was seen with signs of hair loss on his forehead during an event in Monaco, but these signs have disappeared in his subsequent public appearances.
So while the rumors persist, Cristiano Ronaldo remains firm in his stance that his appearance is the result of natural care and not surgical interventions.
