Thanks to a group of volunteers who are part of the Diasozo Animal Rescue Team shelter in Karditsa, Greece, many stray animals in difficulty receive assistance and care. They also manage to find homes for many of them.
When they received the news about Souzi, the dog who gave birth alone on the cold cement and was then run over, they immediately took steps to go check on her condition. The puppy was in poor condition and unfortunately had a broken leg. I needed a visit to the vet ASAP.
As they struggled to nurse their puppies, rescuers from the shelter showed up. They recovered the mother and her four puppies from the vet. However, it was Sunday afternoon, so they had to wait until the next morning to be examined.
At the time of the check-up, the veterinarian found that Souzi’s paw was in very bad condition and broken in two places. Furthermore, her skin needed care and treatment.
Thanks to the attention and care of the veterinarian and shelter employees, Souzi and her puppies have the opportunity to recover quickly.
We later learned that Souzi found a loving home . “I just received this photo from Souzi’s mother Joan in the UK, showing her enjoying her first visit to the beach this weekend! She has come a long way since I found her,” shelter employees wrote in a later update, happy and satisfied with the dog’s journey.
